Creating a Parameterized View

Xenarius allows you to pass parameters to a view. This feature is valuable across a number of scenarios that include passing context to detail views.

To declare a parameter, open the View Data & Commands tab and expand the Parameters section. Click Add in the Parameters section.

Parameters expose the following properties:

  • Property Name – specifies the parameter name.

  • Default Value Type – choose from standard data types, arrays of standard data types and object types specified in an application’s data providers.

  • Default Value – specifies the default parameter value according to the parameter type.

When navigating to this view in event handlers, you will be prompted to specify this parameter.

Another way to share data between views is to create an application-level property in a global view model. To learn more, see Global View Model.
